    About the Installation
Naval Weapons Station Earle was originally chosen as an ammunition depot because its location provided a safe, sheltered port where ships could load ammunition. The station is separated into two sections: Waterfront and Mainside which are located on a 2.9-mile pier in Sandy Hook Bay. The piers are one of the longest finger piers in the world, allowing warships to load and unload ammunition a safe distance from land. For more information click here
